The new book I am reading at the moment focuses on AI and its influence on our life’s.
The author of the book describes this quite positively. He describes how these technologys can easily analyze our emotions, because they are at the end of the day just calculations. Numbers, that describe our brain activity.
And now tell me why this made me incredibly sad and scared?
I don’t want AI in my life that tells me how I feel.
I want to find those words by myself. Find my thoughts by myself.
I don’t want my emotions written down on a piece of paper with numbers on it.
Why do we want to reduce ourselves to that?
Why can´t we humans for once, just once, accept that we do not know some things?
Thoughts should stay complex and indescribable, that´s the whole lure of them.
I want songs, poems, books that describe how we feel.
The author disagrees, he states that we can not escape this progress, because there is too much advantages for our society.
The problem for me is, that we humans at the end of the day are egoistic beings.
Of course on different levels, but egoistic none the less.
We and our society try to deny it, yet we build it on the principle that we need mutual dependencies to be safe form the freedom of others.
And this exactly is the problem for me with AI.
WE are creating this technology and coding it. We want to play god and even he/she could only create us in his image. How do we want to do different?
Do we truly want technology that powerful with our egoistic trades, our prejudices, our lack of morals?
